Wine Country Destination: Gloria Ferrer

They say that happiness is a glass of bubbly. Here in Sonoma, Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards is serving up happiness all year round, but we must say the recent Sonoma County sunshine pairs especially well with their effervescent offerings. 😉

Gloria Ferrer was founded in 1982 by The Ferrer family, who immigrated to the United States from Barcelona, Spain. The family brought with them 150 years of sparkling wine expertise, a passion and a dream to produce wines in California. The 156 acre Carneros property was purchased from three cattle ranchers, and named after owner José Ferrer’s wife, Gloria. Before they arrived, there were no other sparkling wine houses in the region. The winery officially opened its doors in 1986.

Over 30 years later, Gloria Ferrer has expanded to 335 acres, and now includes still wines in their portfolio, along with their signature sparklings.

To pair perfectly with their award winning wines, the Gloria Ferrer property has everything from sweeping sundrenched views, to spectacular caves, to a beautiful well tended to tasting room, set back from the main highway along a winding driveway surrounded by manicured vines and trees. There are a number of tasting experiences to choose from, ranging from a flight on the outdoor terrace, to a fun and educational private Reserve Tour.

Events at Gloria Ferrer are unique, memorable, and picturesque, indeed a spectacular wine country experience. Gloria Ferrer offers spaces for meetings, private events, and of course, weddings. Two conference rooms accommodate meetings, and two onsite spaces accommodate private luncheons. Private events can be held al fresco above the vines or intimately within the caves.
