Ways to Support Local Businesses
Amidst all of the crazy news and happenings in the world this week, it is important to maintain a positive attitude. Stay informed, support one another, and be kind to one another.
For those interested in supporting local businesses, here are some ways to do so through the weekend*:
Sonoma Plaza
The park at the Sonoma Plaza is a wonderful place to take in fresh air and enjoy a take out meal (from one of the surrounding restaurants on the Square!) al fresco. You can legally enjoy local wine, along with your meal, from sunrise to sunset here, as well!
Eat local
Many restaurants are staying open and taking extra precautions to keep you safe. If you cannot eat in at a local restaurant this weekend, order takeout or delivery for local flavors in the comfort of your own home.
Try a new recipe
Homebound? Try a new recipe, and try to make it using ingredients from local shops! Bread from a bakery, coffee from a local shop, etc. Here, here, and here are some recipes sure to cure that comfort food craving.
Stock up on gift cards from local businesses
If you are staying in to avoid crowds this weekend, gift cards are a great way to help businesses stay afloat with less patrons. It’s a fun way to commit to a date night at a later date, or give a gift to someone!
Take a break from the news
Listen and support local podcasts to take a break from the onslaught of news. Our picks? The Bite Goes On, The Winemakers Podcast, On The Wine Road, and Wine Women Radio.
Repost and review
Looking for ways to support while saving money? Repost local businesses on social media, leave kind reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, and respond to events being held later in the year.
