It's Fig Season! ~ Rosemary Skewered Figs Recipe
It's fresh fig season here in California! Being July, we are right in the thick of it. Beginning mid-May and stretching through mid-December, six primary varieties of figs will be common this season, including the Black Mission, Calimyrna, Kadota, Brown Turkey, Sierra, and the Tiger. To make the most of these fresh, perfect figs, we’ve got a wonderful recipe for your next summer meal.
Rosemary Skewered Figs

Ingredients:
12 fresh figs
12 3-inch long rosemary sprigs (another ingredient always in surplus in Sonoma!)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
salt & pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. (This could also be done on the grill!)
1. Skewer each whole fig on a rosemary sprig and drizzle with olive oil.
2. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Roast the figs for 10 minutes and serve.
