6 Kid-Friendly Wineries in Sonoma

School’s out and summertime is here, which means more time for family fun! Sonoma is an incredible place to spend time with your little ones, with plenty of activities and dining options to make everyone happy. Thinking that doesn’t include wine? Think again! While of course, wine is a 21+ activity, Sonoma has some great options when it comes to including the kiddos in your wine country adventure. These spots have places for kids to run, play, and learn while you watch and sip. Check out the list below of great kid-friendly wineries:
Larson Family Winery
Bring a picnic to this farmhouse turned kid and pet-friendly winery, and enjoy a day of fun and tasting in the sun. Bocce and kid friendly games are available on the vast lawn, while adults can watch while enjoying tastings starting at $10.
Landmark Vineyards
May through October, start your visit off with a horse-drawn carriage tour through the gorgeous Kenwood property. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the lawn with picnic, or exploring the nearby pond.
Benziger Family Winery
Truly a family operation itself, Benziger Family Winery is a must stop for any wine country visitor. Learn about agriculture, and biodynamic and organic wine practices while riding a tram through the Glen Ellen property. You may even spot some adorable farm animals!
Cline Cellars
Relax at Cline Cellars’ welcoming property, where kids and adults alike can learn about the winery’s history, visit the California Missions Museum, and meet the resident wildlife. Kids, don’t forget to say hello to the donkeys, Fancy and Pudding, and adults, don’t forget to taste Cline’s array of delicious varietals.
Buena Vista Winery
The oldest commercial winery has much to offer visiting families. Book a guided tour with period actors, and be taken through the Historic Wine Tool Museum and old wine caves. The interactive experience, along with a fun hedge maze, will entertain the kids while you choose which wine to sample.
Bartholomew Park Winery
Situated on gorgeous ground in the heart of a 400-acre park, this winery is a great stop after a hike on the hills behind the vineyards. Once inside the winery check out the museum chronicling the history of Sonoma Valley, sip wine, and snack at the picnic tables outside.
