harvest season: 5 Sonoma County Events
Harvest Season is officially here in Sonoma County! The 194th Sonoma Valley grape harvest officially kicked off last week, with Sangiacomo Family Vineyards being the first to harvest 2018 wine grapes.
There are so many fun events happening in the coming months to celebrate Harvest Season here in Sonoma County. Here are just a few you should check out this season:
September 1
Taste of Sonoma describes their event as "THE wine event of the year". The event features lots of fun activities including wineries pouring from across Sonoma County, local chefs concocting delicious dishes, wine and food pairing tips, a sensory garden created by Kendall-Jackson, and even a disco dance floor!
September 28 - 30
The VOM Vintage Festival is a "weekend full of food, wine, art and a celebration of harvest". On Friday evening, the ticketed Opening Gala event takes place, and includes wine, tapas, friends, live music, and dancing under the stars in the historic Sonoma Barracks. On Saturday and Sunday the weekend festivities commence in the Sonoma Plaza, including a parade, live music, grape stomp, art fair, 5k and 12k race, and of course wine tasting.
October 5 - 7
This year marks the 44th anniversary of the annual Harvest Fair in Sonoma County. A celebration of the county's harvest, this event includes tastes of award winning foods, world class wines and craft beers, a grape stomp, a wine country marketplace, chef demonstrations, wine seminars, and more.
October 6
This annual event at Landmark in Kenwood is not to be missed! From 11am to 3pm, guests can enjoy wines from Landmark, freshly shucked oysters from Hog Island Oyster Co., BBQ from Cochon Volant, and live music by Chi McClean.
October 21
In its 15th year, the Annual Pinot On The River event is perfect for Pinot Noir lovers. The event takes place in the heart of Healdsburg and will include a Pinot Noir Grand Tasting with over 100 different wineries.
