"Wine pairs nicely with good friends."

This Week: Site Wines, 2013 Grenache
About Site Wines:
The wines of Site Wines are produced using grapes from the most distinctive vineyards in California. Winemaker Jeremy Weintraub manages Site, along with several other vineyards and wineries. Describing his view on winemaking, he states: "I view each vintage with a fresh eye and an open mind. I don't enforce a particular winemaking style, but take an approach that's nimble and dynamic and attuned solely to the vineyard and the vintage, not the dogma."
Tasting Notes:
This 2013 Grenache has 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah. Fermented in small bins and aged for 18 months in French oak, this Grenache has aromas of black raspberry, cooking spices, anise, and dried tobacco.
Pairings:
At the girl & the fig we’d recommend pairing Site Wines, 2013 Grenache with our Local Chicken Thighs (fall panzanella, chicories, pomegranate gastrique) or our Duck Confit (butter beans, butternut squash, roasted shallots, duck jus, breadcrumbs).
At home try it with grilled or braised meats like beef, veal, pork, or chicken. Grenache also pairs nicely with cassoulet.
Cheers!
