5 Local Eats

While we love all of our neighboring restaurants in Sonoma, and happily send guests their way often, we’ve decided to poll our staff to find out where they are eating lately (when not at “the fig”) – and let you in on a few local spots that you perhaps haven’t heard of if you’re passing through for a weekend.

Or – maybe you’re a local in need of a little fresh inspiration.

 

Nick and Jen Demarest opened Harvest Moon after graduating from the culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. Their menu changes daily to ensure their customers are receiving the best local produce. Nick and Jen believe in the principles of sustainability and have developed strong relationships with local farmers. They have won multiple awards and are known as one of the best restaurants in Sonoma County.

What not to miss

When coming to Harvest Moon enjoy your meal on their gorgeous outdoor patio. Take in the beautiful scenery while indulging in scrumptious local meats and produce. During the summer months you catch classic movies on their patio on Wednesday nights!

 

La Casa opened their doors in 1967 and has been family operated ever since. Known as a Sonoma Landmark for great Mexican food and traditional Latin music. La Casa is the perfect spot for tourists and locals alike to have a fun night out on the town.

What not to miss

When dining at La Casa you must indulge in their magnificent margaritas while dining on their garden patio. During the summer months you may find a Latin soloist meandering through their dining room, providing guests with traditional music.

 

The red grape was opened by Carol and Sam Morphy 15 years ago with the dream of becoming one of the star's of Sonoma Eatery. Their New Haven style pizza is prepared with the freshest ingredients and pairs beautifully with their locally made pasta and gourmet salads.

What not to miss

When eating at red grape you must enjoy one of their amazing pizzas-thin crispy crusts, prepared in a stone-lined pizza oven and high-fried for a delightful crispy crust. Yum!!

 

Located in the center of the Sonoma Square and just steps away from all the shops, eateries, and tastings. The Swiss hotels has five beautiful rooms for guests to stay plus a restaurant and event space to cater your event.

What not to miss

Admire over 100 years of Sonoma's history while dining at The Swiss Hotel. Their beautiful historic bar has been relatively untouched throughout four generations. When roaming the Sonoma square enjoy their outside patio seating, perfect for this beautiful summer weather!

 

Della Santina's was established in 1990 by Quirico and Shirley Della Santina, delivering traditional Northern Italian cuisine and heritage to Sonoma County. Their seasonal menus change weekly and feature specialty items that are imported from Italy and meats that are locally farm-raised and organic.

What not to miss

Della Santina's is a family operated establishment that will transport you to Italy while visiting Sonoma County! Enjoy handmade pastas, soups and rotisserie meats while sampling magnificent wines, "from around the world"at Enoteca, owned by the Della Santina's son, Rob and his wife, Nicole.
